My name is Wynn Geary, I’m a 17 year old beekeeper from Philadelphia. For my senior capstone project at Science Leadership Academy I've received a grant from The Franklin Institute (a major science museum here in Philly) to start a research apiary in their “science park". We will be setting up the apiary in the Spring with a Barcelona Warre hive. I'm excited to beta test one of the new sensors and help offer feedback. The hive will be very public and we are attempting to grow a community of “vicarious beekeepers” through online interaction with the hive.

I could use some help figuring out the logistics of hooking up a webcam to the window plate of the hive. Does anyone have any ideas about wifi enabled webcams and if the solar power on the OSBH solar panel produce enough energy to power the sensor kit and a webcam?

I'll continue to post as the project develops and I'd love to hear what thoughts or suggestions anyone has about the project. Thanks!
